Defibrillator Update

The importance of a village defibrillator could never be understated and we’re more than pleased to see that work on its installation is well underway.  Many have had queries with regard to timescales but I can comfortably report that we’re on track.  This post is just a brief update on that progress.  Check out our Defibrillator Project page for more information.

The Cabinet

Critical to the correct operation of a defibrillator is a temperature-controlled cabinet. This cabinet protects the device from the elements whilst keeping a steady temperature to maintain the longevity and effectiveness of the battery. The installation took place in December and is perfectly positioned roadside on the Spalding side of Tongue End.

In addition to the defibrillator the Deeping Fen Wind Farm Advisory Committee kindly provided funds for the installation of the electrics, the installation was carried out by Danni at Amco Electrical on the property of local businessman Jay Rochford.

Arrival of the Defibrillator

So where is our defibrillator? The delay is in large part due to difficulty in sourcing parts which has resulted in a backlog of orders, it is hoped that we’ll see it arrive around April and at the very latest May. We’re continuing to chase and will advise once the defib is fully operational.
